All patients having PEP should be assessed for renal impairment. Tenofovir should not be used if creatinine clearance is less than 60mL/min. Zidovudine with lamivudine with both doses adjusted to degree of renal function is recommended as a 2-drug regimen with a third agent as indicated.25
